NTT DoCoMo the Japanese telecom juggernaut has added the LG L704i to its portfolio. The chocolate phone supports DoCoMo's FOMA service and HSDPA as well.

The L704i rides on GSM and W-CDMA giving user the comfort of world roaming as well superfast 3.6 Mbps downloads via HSDPA. The phone has the traditional chocolate styled touch panel with a red backlight for accessing the menu. Specs include 2 Megapixel camera, secondary camera for video conferencing, 2.2 inch QVGA display supporting 262k colors, INfrared and Micro SD card for memory expansion upto 2GB. The battery provides 300 hours of standby time and 150 minutes of talktime.The LG L704i will be available by October in black, white and wine red colors.

Greenhouse Japan has announced the Kana D a simple no frills MP3 player. With just 512MB of onboard memory it can playback MP3 and WMA files with support for voice recording in WAV format. The LCD display shows track information along with battery life. The player connects via USB to its host it is powered by single AAA battery which provides 7 hours of continuous playback.
The Greenhouse Kana D measures 28.5×83×22mm and weighs 25 grams. It will be available in Japan from mid July for 3280 Yen ($ 27).

JVC Japan has announced the HD-110MH80 which gets the title of the world's largest rear projection TV. At 110 inches it is the biggest TV money can buy as its Plasma and LCD counterparts from Mitsubishi and Sharp max out at 103 and 108 inches respectively. It adopts the Bick screen (Exe series) which offers full HD resolution at 1980 x 1020 pixels. Powering this mammoth is the TS-CL110J high tension mercury lamp which costs around 15,750 Yen ($ 130) to replace. Onboard 14 bit digital image processing and the Genesas image engine deliver superior picture quality, it has onboard digital and analog tuners. The speakers deliver an output of 10W x 2 ch, onboard connections include 2 x HDMI, Ethernet and Monitor input.

The measures 254.4×93.6×177.7cm and weighs an astounding 330 kgs, JVC advises buyers to reinforce the flooring before getting one. The TV will be available in Japan from October with pre-orders start on July, it carriers a price tag of $ 52,550.

The i620 photos are out and the prominent features allow us to gauge that this slick slider phone has looks to match its style. All those who think, sleep, eat and talk photography and even those who just like clicking pictures without any know-how, here is a camera that will blow your mind. I haven’t been very successful at understanding its features, the shape and its purpose but ill spill the beans anyways, just in case you get it. If you want to paint a pretty picture, with your camera as the brush then capturing that panoramic view to the best abilities of both the photographer and the camera becomes indispensable. That explains the invention of Nikon 360 degrees digital camera. Based on an ergonomic cylindrical form lens, the 360 is a camera that allows you take an all-round picture. An angle indicator provides a gauge on the direction of the rotating head and is also an additional detail to provide the camera with a stronger and steadier feel while in operation.

It has been designed by Ye Chen and is really lucid when it comes to the user interface. The main operating function designed as a touch sensor. I approve (not that my approval was needed) of its functionality but the shape (according to me) is ghastly. There should be something done about the aesthetics.

Sony today unveiled a new screen that will forever change the future of electronic devices. This new 2.5-inch OLED screen is made of a glass substrate that allows you to casually bend the screen. Since the display is wafer-thin, you one day might see these inside magazines as advertisements or perhaps on the back of a cellphone for viewing movies. It uses organic TFT technology to keep clarity in-tact and to retain its 0.3mm thickness.

This display will allow for the development of bigger, better, lighter, and “softer” electronics Sony says. In case you were wondering, the screen has a resolution of 120×169 pixels and weighs only 1.5 grams. Extremely impressive. Imagine if this became a low-cost media solution years down the road. Panasonic Announces Its HDC-SC3 and HDC-DX3

Panasonic has targeted the consumer market by launching its 3CCD HDC-SC1 and HDC-DX1 high-definition camcorders and has now come up with its successors the HDC-SC3 and HDC-DX3.

Both the SD3 and DX3 fully support H.264 and will capture video at resolutions up to 1,920 by 1,080 pixels, an increase over the 1,440 by 1,080 resolution offered by the earlier models.

Both these successors have the same capabilities as their predecessors but cam be distinguished by the media they use to store the video as the SD3 stores the video to SD card and the DX3 writes it to DVD discs in AVCHD format.

Both these models have a much-improved video compression as 4 GB SD card can hold about 40 minutes of high-resolution video, while an 8 CM DVD can hold 14 minutes of high-def video per side. Apart from these features, these models carry the same specs as the previous models.

Sony Ericsson unveiled its new collection of mobile phones aimed at design-conscious users at a London event last night.

Inspired by the colors and light of nature, the new additions included the Sony Ericsson T250, the Sony Ericsson T650, and the Sony Ericsson S500. These new phones are not aimed at particular audiences like the previous Walkman and CyberShot ranges are, but to a wide spectrum of people instead.

Sony Ericsson P1

Sony Ericsson also unveiled the Sony Ericsson P1 smartphone, the latest addition to its P-series family. Its design, speed, display and battery performance have been improved. The Sony Ericsson P1 allows you to push email from another device, and browse the internet via a high-speed UMTS and Wi-Fi.

It runs on the Symbian operating system and UIQ 3.0. The P1 has a dual function keyboard - an alpha-numeric text input, combined with hand phone usability. It also features a 3.2-megapixel camera, business card scanner and a 2.6-inch touch screen display. It will be available from Q3 2007.

The Sony Ericsson T250 is branded as a 'premium lower-end phone' for those who just talk and text but still want a nice phone. Available in Q3 2007, it features an FM radio, GSM/GPRS connectivity and an on-board camera.

S500

Sony Ericsson also showed off its new slider phone, the S500. It comes in either 'spring yellow' or 'mysterious green' and will go on sale in June. It appears that we will be seeing the long awaited Google phone sooner than we originally thought, or maybe not depending on your point of view and possibly insider information. But again this has been a long running saga where the original stories began to break about the phone, followed swiftly by all the rumors about what it may do, what it cannot do and so on, until it reaches the point where we all wonder if this is really ever going to happen at all. Clearly it is now, so what has the Google phone got in store for us?

If we can believe all the rumors then the Google phone will be using the Texas instrument 3G phone platform, and will of course have Gmail, Gtalk, Google Maps and anything else that is available with a “G” in front of it, so lets hope that it is great! Although having said that it may be possible that the one and only important “G”, GPS will not actually be included which is a shame but its not the end of the world. So far there has been little information regarding the networks that the phone will be available to, though it does seem to be that Orange have the lead to get this phone first for the European market and maybe even beyond.
According to many sources the phones must be nearing a launch date, as the manufacturers Taiwan based phone maker High Tech Computer are said to be preparing for the first shipments by the end of this year, 2007. This means that there will be a build up to a massive launch in early 2008! Which in techno terms is not really that far away, because there are always going to be leaks, photos and even mock ups of new products appearing, we can be expecting many views and news on the Google Phone from now on.

Only Six Percent Possibility of Purchasing the iPhone Within the Next Year

Marketing consulting company Markitecture has highlighted Apple’s entrance into the smartphone market.

This is what Markitecture stated,

“We surveyed a nationally representative sample of 1,300 people who both owned their own cell phone and were responsible for the monthly payments. 77% of respondents were at least slightly familiar with the iPhone, a respectable number for a product that has yet to launch. Among those familiar with the product, 41% had a good impression of the iPhone based on everything they had seen or heard. Interestingly, familiarity with the iPhone is positively correlated with overall impression - strength of impression increases dramatically with increased exposure - 83% of those very familiar with the iPhone had an excellent or very good impression of the product.”

The survey conducted by Markitecture further revealed that inspite of the fairly strong impression overall, when asked their probability of buying the iPhone within the next year, trial (assuming 100% awareness and distribution) was 6%. In fact, two-thirds said that there was zero chance they would purchase the product. While 6% may appear low for a high-profile product launch, it actually may actually be very strong for the cell phone market. The super successful Motorola RAZR after its release in 2004 achieved a 6% market share at its peak.

With respect to the reasons behind not buying the iPhone, its high price is quoted as the top reason; coming in a close second was carrier issues and or contracts, which could possibly be a tough obstacle to overcome.
