Domino Cellphone Concept

We love us some cellphone concepts around here, and Syntes Studio's Domino phone is no exception. The dialing buttons are setup with domino dots to designate value, as opposed to the primitive, fashionless numeric system. Plus, it's super sleek and thin, just like your favorite anorexic super model (but sexy).
We especially like that you get five extra phones with each purchase, just so you can set them up to fall. Hit the jump for some more shots.

Samsung i620 the successor of the i600

Speculations are rife about what the new Samsung i620 will be. The rumors tout it to be an upped i600. The i620 photos are out and the prominent features allow us to gauge that this slick slider phone has looks to match its style. This QWERTY phone is said to feature two cameras (one with 2 megapixel and photo light). It will be a triband GSM/GPRS/EDGE phone as well as supporting UMTS. Windows Mobile 6, WiFi and Bluetooth support are speculated and not confirmed.

"The Global Certification Forum (GCF) lists two versions of the new phone: the Samsung SGH-i620 and the SGH-i620V (V = Vodafone like the SGH-i600V is the Vodafone version of the i600?) and confirms, that both devices are triband GSM (900/1800/1900 MHz) only but also confirms support for HSDPA (UTRA FDDI) and video telephony." This spells out good news for Europeans but bad news for Americans since it's not quadband.

Nokia - N75

Carry around a little piece of history in your pocket, the recently-launched Nokia N75.

The N75 makes history as the first S60 handset (and the first Nokia, period) with American 3G to see launch.

Features include QVGA internal and huge 160 x 128 external displays, a 2 megapixel camera, dedicated music controls, Bluetooth (with A2DP rumored to be in the pipe), and a pair of some of the loudest speakers we've experienced on a phone in recent memory.

BlackBerry 8300 Curve

For a no-frills business phone that’s packed with features, look no furthur than RIM’s BlackBerry Curve. It sports a 2.0-megapixel camera, miniSD card slot, EDGE, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It’s obviously smaller than its e-mailing ancestors, and attracts envious eyes every time it’s whipped out in public. It’s a slinky media player too. Updates software means its video and audio playback is smooth as silk.

Nokia 888

Technologies that are used

It uses liquid battery, speech recognition, flexible touch screen, touch sensitive body cover which lets it understand and adjust to the environment. It has a simple programmable body mechanism so that it changes forms in different situations.

The functionality of design
You don't have to carry it in your pocket or on your wrist. You can carry it anywhere, in any form. You can roll it, bend it, put on your clothes like a clip. It also makes some form changes that makes it more ergonomical: i.e. when you want to talk on the phone, the body form turns into the form of the good old telephone. You can personalize these forms and record them. So it fits you the best in the way that you have chosen. The functions that it has also create a feeling of electronical pet, as it senses your moves, understand what you want, respond you in the best way. It learns you, to fit you better. Also e-motions lets you send forms to the other 888 users. It could be the shape of a heart or a small dance. This way you can talk without words.

How the user interacts
E-motions... It means electronical motions that 888 has. You can send and receive forms from / to friends. You can send a heart shape to your girlfriend, so her telephone turns into an icon of heart. Or you can send a dancing form to your friends to call them to the party tonight. This is the fun side of the product. If we look from the functionality side, 888 is quite flexible. You can put it into your pocket, roll it and make it smaller, or put on your wrist when you want to make a video call on the go. If you want to talk like a normal telephone, there you have your telephone shape. We go through a lot of places and situations in the daily life, so it seems like one form is not enough.

What is Unique ?
You can change the form of the body. Not just the color. And you can do the same by sending an e-motion to your friend.

The Inspiration
The idea is that "the perfect form" does not exist. "Form follows you" We create the perfect form for each function.

Sony Ericsson's new 'broad appeal' phones

Sony Ericsson unveiled its new collection of mobile phones aimed at design-conscious users at a London event last night.

Inspired by the colors and light of nature, the new additions included the Sony Ericsson T250, the Sony Ericsson T650, and the Sony Ericsson S500. These new phones are not aimed at particular audiences like the previous Walkman and CyberShot ranges are, but to a wide spectrum of people instead.

Sony Ericsson P1

Sony Ericsson also unveiled the Sony Ericsson P1 smartphone, the latest addition to its P-series family. Its design, speed, display and battery performance have been improved. The Sony Ericsson P1 allows you to push email from another device, and browse the internet via a high-speed UMTS and Wi-Fi.

It runs on the Symbian operating system and UIQ 3.0. The P1 has a dual function keyboard - an alpha-numeric text input, combined with hand phone usability. It also features a 3.2-megapixel camera, business card scanner and a 2.6-inch touch screen display. It will be available from Q3 2007.

T250

The Sony Ericsson T250 is branded as a 'premium lower-end phone' for those who just talk and text but still want a nice phone. Available in Q3 2007, it features an FM radio, GSM/GPRS connectivity and an on-board camera.

S500

Sony Ericsson also showed off its new slider phone, the S500. It comes in either 'spring yellow' or 'mysterious green' and will go on sale in June. The Sony Ericsson S500 is equipped with a 2-megapixel camera and Bluetooth connectivity. It has a media player that supports MP3/AAC file formats among others, as well as GSM/GPRS/Edge support.

T650

The Sony Ericsson T650 features a keypad with light effects which "bring it to life" when opened and used. Crammed into a slimline 14mm body, the T650 features a 3.2-megapixel camera and a media player with 256MB built-in memory (which is expandable). It has a scratch-resistant crystal display and 3G capabilities as well. It will go on sale in Q3 2007.
